Confession: I didn’t take maternity photos when I was pregnant. I tried to take those weekly photos once I had a little bump, but I gave it up pretty quickly! I didn’t feel like one of those glowing, radiant pregnant people. I felt awkward and nauseated and in no mood to have my picture taken. I regret that now, though, as I have so few pictures documenting my pregnancy!
So when my dear friend (of over a decade now!) announced her second pregnancy, I just knew we had to take some pictures for her this time! She also skipped them the first time around, and I wanted to help her document these special days. As a mom to an only child, I haven’t personally experienced the roller coaster of emotions of having a second baby, but I do know it’s both exciting and terrifying as you watch your little one become a big brother or sister! We opted to include the whole family in this session, both to document their little family of 3 before it becomes 4, and to capture some special moments with mom and her first baby boy!
This special location, nestled near a creek in Fallbrook, was the perfect setting and one of my favorite places to photograph. The mix of indoor and outdoor locations is perfect for maternity photography where we can spotlight a mom-to-be and also have plenty of room for a little one to run wild!
