One of the things that I did not expect when I picked up my camera and started my photography journey was how many people it would bring into my life. I met Arcilia when she was looking for a photographer for her blog, The Modern Mom. We hit it off and have been friends since, and I’ve had the pleasure of getting to document her sweet family for some special milestones.
This family session was a total dream in a perfect location, but it turned out to have special significance as well. Arcilia experienced complications with her pregnancy and delivered her beautiful baby girl at 25 weeks. I was so grateful we were able to capture these moments with her family and her baby bump, since she didn’t end up getting to take maternity pictures. She and baby are doing well and are such an inspiration! They are confronting a very long NICU stay and the difficulties of having life turned upside down, but these wonderful kids have the best parents to help them navigate this tumultuous time.
As a photographer, it is so meaningful to me that families invite me to be a part of their precious family memories. I look forward to many more memories with this beautiful family of 5!
